The seal is a clear coating applied by hand at the bench, after the piece is poured, oxidized, and relieved. It goes on thin, sits in the low places without clouding them, and locks the finish exactly where it was the day it left Vermont. The oxidation stays where it was put. The high points stay bright.
It goes on the back face and the edges — the surfaces that meet skin and shirt — so the front of the piece is untouched.

Covers impact damage, a bent bail, and deep gouges from daily wear. If it happens, we repair or replace the piece.

Everything else on a vessel can fail and she will still be there in the morning. If the rode goes, she is on the rocks by midnight. So it was the one thing a sailor never trusted to a weld. Stud-link chain, each link forged with a bar across the middle so it could not stretch or kink under load, laid out in a locker in the bow where the whole crew could see it and nobody could hide a bad link.
A man is only as good as what holds him when the wind comes up. Not the sails. Not the speed. The thing underneath that nobody looks at until it matters.

Fit
Fits wrists 6½ – 7½ in. Measure around your wrist where the cuff will sit, snug but not tight. Slides on from the side over the narrow edge of the wrist and sits with the opening on the inside. If your wrist is outside this range, contact us before ordering — we can pour to fit.
