The Founders Anvil
Poured once. Never again.
Before we opened the doors, we made something that will never be sold. It goes to the people who were here first.
The anvil is the oldest mark of a thing made by hand. Every trade that makes something real has one somewhere behind it.
So that is what we made. A miniature anvil, solid through and poured heavy, oxidized by hand like the rest. It is cast in the same metal as your pendant — .999 fine silver or bronze, whichever you chose.
Every anvil is numbered. Your number is engraved on the underside of the base, where only you will see it, and written again on the certificate that comes in the box. Two records of the same number — that is how provenance is kept.
Silver and bronze are numbered in separate runs, and both molds are retired when the window closes.
The certificate is filled in by hand. The date your piece was poured, the name of whoever finished it, and your founder number. Every piece is detailed by hand, so no two come out exactly alike — yours will have marks that no other one has.
It is not for sale. It never will be. The only way to hold one is to be here in the first five days.

The name comes from an old word — croft — a small patch of land worked by hand. The people who held a croft made what they needed from what they had: no factory, no shortcuts, just skill and the will to build something that lasts.
That is how every piece is made here. Every design is our own — drawn here, cut here, poured here. Raw metal, shaped by hand in our own shop, and made to be worn for years, then handed to someone who matters.

Fine Silver

The metal of dug-up things. Ours ships already darkened by hand — near-black in the low places, dull gold where a worn piece rubs bright — and it keeps deepening as you wear it.

Before you wear it.
Silver or bronze — which should I choose?+
Silver reads cooler and brighter, with the oxidation settling blue-black in the low places. Bronze is darker and browner, closer to something dug up than something bought, and it keeps moving toward a deeper patina the longer you wear it.
Silver is the precious metal and holds its value as one. Bronze is the one to pick if you want the look of an old excavated piece, or if you want two of the twelve instead of one.

Will it tarnish?+
On a hand-finished piece it works in your favor. The darkening settles into the low places and throws the raised surfaces forward, so the detail gets stronger over time. We oxidize the recesses by hand before it ships, which is that same process started early — the contrast you see in the photos is intentional, and it deepens as you wear it.
Most men leave it alone. If you want the high points brighter, a polishing cloth takes thirty seconds. Leave the low places dark; that's the finish. Bronze goes further and faster, toward deep brown, and that patina is the whole character of the piece.
Can I slow the tarnish down?+
We also offer an optional Protective Seal, applied by hand before your piece ships. It's a clear coating on the back face and edges that slows tarnish considerably and keeps the metal off skin. Note that it is a coating — polishing will wear through it, and it will need reapplying eventually. Add it at checkout.
