Silver darkens. Bronze darkens faster, and against skin it can leave a mark.
The seal is a clear coating applied by hand at the bench, after the piece is poured, oxidized, and relieved. It goes on thin, sits in the low places without clouding them, and locks the finish exactly where it was the day it left Vermont. The oxidation stays where it was put. The high points stay bright.
It goes on the back face and the edges — the surfaces that meet skin and shirt — so the front of the piece is untouched.
Applied to every pendant in your order before it ships. Nothing for you to do.

Covers impact damage, a bent bail, and deep gouges from daily wear. If it happens, we repair or replace the piece.
Add once per pendant. Coverage runs two years from delivery.

Three nails.
Two through the hands, one through the feet.
They were nothing like a nail you would buy today. Hand-forged, square in section, five to seven inches, tapered and made to be driven and never drawn back out. One was found at Giv'at ha-Mivtar in Jerusalem still through the heel bone of a crucified man, bent at the tip where it hit a knot in the wood and turned.
He knew what was coming and went anyway. That is the part men wear this for. Not the suffering. The choosing.
Three nails bound at the crossing with wire, the way a man ties two pieces of iron together when he needs them to hold. Poured solid in a single piece, the shafts hammered flat, the heads left rough.
