The seal is a clear coating applied by hand at the bench, after the piece is poured, oxidized, and relieved. It goes on thin, sits in the low places without clouding them, and locks the finish exactly where it was the day it left Vermont. The oxidation stays where it was put. The high points stay bright.
It goes on the back face and the edges — the surfaces that meet skin and shirt — so the front of the piece is untouched.

Covers impact damage, a bent bail, and deep gouges from daily wear. If it happens, we repair or replace the piece.

A vigil is a night spent awake on purpose.
Before a man was knighted he kept one. Armor laid on the altar, the church dark, and him kneeling in front of it from dusk until the first mass. Nobody watched him do it. No one would know if he slept. That was the test — not whether he could fight, but whether he could stay at his post through the long hours when it would be easy not to.
Most of a man's life is that. Not the battle. The watch. The hours nobody sees, when you hold the line anyway because you said you would.
Plank grain cut down the length of the band, the way a cross was built from timber, not carved from it. A plain cross at either end, so it is at both edges of the opening — there is no way to put it on without one facing you.

Fit
Fits wrists 6½ – 7½ in. Measure around your wrist where the cuff will sit, snug but not tight. Slides on from the side over the narrow edge of the wrist and sits with the opening on the inside. If your wrist is outside this range, contact us before ordering — we can pour to fit.
