The seal is a clear coating applied by hand at the bench, after the piece is poured, oxidized, and relieved. It goes on thin, sits in the low places without clouding them, and locks the finish exactly where it was the day it left Vermont. The oxidation stays where it was put. The high points stay bright.

It goes on the back face and the edges — the surfaces that meet skin and shirt — so the front of the piece is untouched.

Applied to every pendant in your order before it ships. Nothing for you to do.

Two hammered nails, crossed, with a single wrap lashed around the center. It's poured as one solid piece — but look at it and the wrap is what reads as holding the whole thing together. Without it, it's two nails lying across each other. With it, nothing moves.

That is the whole idea. Faith isn't the nails. It's the thing wrapped around them that keeps them where they are when everything pulls the other way.

The nails are forged rough, heads left square, shanks pitted the way old iron is. The wrap crosses once on the face and once on the back. Oxidation settles into the hammer marks and pulls the texture forward.
